Quail Creek State Park is the perfect camping getaway for people who want to stay in a primitive camping location away from some of the area's more crowded destinations. The contrast of the two water temperatures helps to provide recreation seekers with ample fun during every season. The heated surface temperatures create a comfortable environment for paddleboarders and boaters, while the depths of the water help to sustain the cold water fish. Since the reservoir comes from the pipeline, the water temperatures are warm on the surface and cold closer to the bottom of the lake. We were able to do some great hiking at the North end of Zion in the Kolob Canyons area which was about 30 minutes north off of I-15. Overall it was a pleasant surprise due to the last minute booking. ![]() Summertime with windows open might be a noise issue for some. Inside the camper we did not find this and issue for sleeping but in October we had most windows closed and were running the heat. The site was a bit noisy due to nearby I-15 freeway. A camper staying there longer term (who was adjacent to the office) told us they got great WiFi for streaming so perhaps it was location or perhaps it was the 2nd channel, not sure. We were unable to stream TV consistently in the evening. Wifi was available but for us a bit spotty. The dog run looked nice/grassy area adjacent to the office and bathrooms. The bathrooms were clean and modern construction. Some back-in gravel and some paved/pull-through spots. Overall this is a nice, clean, newer small campground. We opted to cancel our reservation up at Bryce due to cold and snow conditions up there and we did not want to deal with driving in those conditions with the rig. We stayed here in early October 2021 as a last minute reservation. We’d suggest going to quail creek state park itself and staying!! If they had opening that’s what we would have done! OR there is a KOA literally next to it that seemed way more worth paying a bit extra! we would normally pay $45 for a place with laundry, dumpsters, pool etc. The price is ridiculous for what it is though. The location is good with access to Zion, quail creek state park, St. it was scribbled in a piece of paper on a board that I wouldn’t say would be anyone first guess… seeing as I showed it to two other that pulled in□ The whole place is gravel and about 50% of the campers are permanent with lots of stuff.Ĭame in on a Sunday and did not know our site number- called the number as the office was closed, she rudely said “it’s on the poster board outside”.
